Following some months of discussion The East Neuk Centre trust which runs the East Neuk Centre, Erskine Hall and Anstruther Town Hall in Anstruther and the Cellardyke Town Hall committee recently proposed merging their two groups.
Public consultation took place at the East Neuk Centre AGM on 30th September and again at the Cellardyke Town Hall AGM on 6th October. At both open meetings the proposal was well received by everyone who attended. The next phase will be for the two groups to work together to look at the practicalities of merging , hopefully starting to operate as one from 1st January.
A spokesperson from the Trust said “ with the pressure on the existing halls in the Town it makes sense for the various hall committees to work together to reduce costs and increase revenue. We are sure that adding Cellardyke Town Hall into the mix will enable us to offer a wider variety of venues and facilities for individuals and groups who wish to hire premises. We welcome the many years of experience that the Cellardyke Town Hall committee will bring on board when they become trustees of the larger group”.
